Domestic abuse

If you are being abused, are concerned about family, friends or neighbours, or are worried you may commit domestic abuse please seek help. There are a number of organisations that are able to offer you support.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline

The National Domestic Abuse helpline provides guidance and support for women and children who are potential victims of domestic abuse as well as those who are worried about friends and loved ones. They can be called for free and in confidence 24 hours a day on 0808 200247 or visit

The Mens Advice Line

Domestic abuse affects men too and the Mens Advice Line team are working hard to support callers. This is a confidential service that can offer advice and emotional support to men who experience abuse and they can signpost to other vital services that help keep them and their children safe.
